- Winchester (8 miles)
– An unspoilt cathedral city on
the edge of the South Downs, Winchester
is England's ancient capital and former
seat of King Alfred the Great. Today,
Winchester combines the best of city life
with the freshness of the surrounding
countryside. England as it ought to be.
Winchester Cathedral was also used as
the location for the blockbuster The Da
Vinci Code.
- Salisbury (15 miles)
– Home to Britain's finest 13th
Century cathedral, which contains the
world's best preserved Magna Carta and
Europe's oldest working clock. Salisbury
Cathedral, is a magnificent example of
early English gothic architecture and
is situated in the largest medieval close
in Britain, surrounded by beautiful historic
buildings and 8 acres of lawns. Salisbury
is a great day out from our self catering
property.
- Stonehenge (15 miles)
– An experience not to be missed
is a visit to Stonehenge, an impressive
prehistoric monument of unique importance
and a World Heritage Site that has mystified
and amazed for thousands of years. Stonehenge
is just half an hour away.
- Thruxton Race Circuit –
entering a BARC race meeting? We can accommodate
your car and trailer in our safe, level
and off road drive way. Thruxton is a
great day out and close by.
- Larch Loft is close to Richard Adam's
Watership Down, and the
South Downs, an area
of outstanding natural beauty with its
rolling chalk downs and deep dry valleys.
- National Trust's Mottisfont
Abbey - Set amidst glorious countryside
along the River Test, Mottisfont Abbey,
a 12th-century Augustinian priory, boasts
sweeping lawns, gardens & National
collection of old fashioned roses.
- Jane Austen's house
a pleasant seventeenth century house in
the pretty village of Chawton, not far
from Jane Austen's birthplace of Steventon,
near Alton.
- The Watercress line
– Mid-Hants Railway operates preserved
heritage steam engines between the towns
of Alresford and Alton, the Watercress
line is a must for steam railway enthusiasts.
- The Leckford Estate & Longstock
Park Water Garden – Waitrose
own farm.
- Coast – The superb
south coast sandy beaches of Bournemouth
can be reached in about an hour
as can Portsmouth with all its maritime
history.
- New Forest –
England's latest national park,
the New Forest, is an easy drive
across the rolling Hampshire hills,
with its beautiful villages and
famous New Forest ponies. The New
Forest is a fabulous area for walking
or cycling.
- Broadlands –
Home of Lord Mountbatten, stands
in spacious parkland, designed by
‘Capability' Brown. The River Test,
flows for over four miles through
the Estate. 'Capability' Brown's
dictum was that 'Nature abhors a
straight line'. His skill in applying
it can be seen in the views of the
River Test.
- Beaulieu Motor Museum
- Newbury Racecourse

Chilbolton is easily reached from the M3, A34 or A303.
When entering the village from the A3057, turn right into Drove Road. Inglenook Cottage is easily found 500 yards along on the left handside, drive in and Larch Loft is situated on your right. Please park outside.

Terms and conditions
- Larch Loft is for up to 2 adults, we are not able to offer a discount for single occupancy.
- Bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 50% deposit of the total holiday cost.
- The balance is due 4 weeks before your holiday commences.
- For cancellations made prior to 4 weeks before the holiday date, the deposit will be refunded less a £25 cancellation charge.
- For cancellations made within 4 weeks of the holiday date, the rent will be refunded if re-let, less a £25 cancellation charge. If we are unable to re-let the property then the full rent is payable. We strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover such an eventuality.
- When booking is within 4 weeks of the holiday date we require the total rental to be paid in advance.
- Prices include all taxes, water, gas, linen and towels.
- Larch Loft is to be left in the same clean condition as found.
- Any damage to the property and contents will be charged at cost.
